These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of pbicompass.com and the PBICompass application (the "Service"), operated by PBICompass ("we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
PBICompass turns a Power BI semantic model (.pbix or .pbip) into generated technical, audit, executive and business documentation. Uploaded files are processed to extract structural metadata only (tables, columns, measures, relationships, DAX, RLS roles); row-level data is never read or retained. See our Privacy Policy for details.
You need an account to use the Service. You're responsible for keeping your account credentials and any API keys you generate confidential, and for all activity under your account. The currently available Free plan and its monthly report quota are listed on our Pricing page. Unused reports do not roll over to the next month.
PBICompass does not currently sell self-service paid subscriptions or collect payment through the Service. Pro and Business plans shown on the Pricing page are previews marked "Coming soon" and cannot be purchased. These Terms and the Refund Policy will be updated before paid subscriptions become available.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or fail to pay applicable fees.
If you select AI-assisted narrative generation, report metadata needed for prose generation is processed by the selected third-party AI provider. Hosted jobs use a provider key managed by PBICompass; self-hosted deployments may optionally support a user-supplied key. Provider use is also subject to the provider's terms and privacy policy.
You retain all rights to the semantic model you upload and to the documentation generated for you. We retain all rights to the Service itself (software, design, and branding).
The Service, including all generated documentation, is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Generated documentation is produced automatically and may contain inaccuracies; you are responsible for reviewing it before relying on it for governance, compliance, audit, or any other purpose.
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PBICompass will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 3 months preceding the claim.
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms, abuse the Service, or if we discontinue the Service, with reasonable notice where practicable.
These Terms are governed by generally applicable law, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, to the extent permitted. Nothing in these Terms limits any statutory rights you may have that cannot be excluded under applicable law.
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the effective date above; continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
